Now, your job is keep your skin as soft, smooth and silky as possible for as long as possible in between your hair removal treatments.

Minimise the risk of ingrown hairs and other unsightly post hair removal lumps and bumps by avoiding the following for 24 – 48 hours after your wax/other form of hair removal. It’s important to try and keep the area clean and free of heat, sweat & friction during that time. Open pores can get easily clogged by sweat or product, and may get infected if bacteria is allowed to enter.
- No fake tans, massages, extreme heat treatments (e.g., very hot baths or showers, saunas, steam rooms, jacuzzis and hot tubs), swimming or sunbathing (including sun beds or any other exposure to UV light)
- Avoid sweat-inducing exercise
- Keep the area clean and try and avoid scratching or touching the area.
- Avoid applying deodorant, anything perfumed or make-up to the area for 24 hours
- Try not to wear tight clothing.
Also
- Moisturise the area daily to keep your skin supple which will allow your hair regrowth to break through the skin normally. Ingrown hairs are often caused by dry and flaky skin, which the new hair can’t grow through.
- Use of a naturally-antibacterial cleanser will deep clean your open pores and help ward off any potential infection.
- Starting from 2 – 3 days after your hair removal treatment, gently exfoliate the area in the bath or shower with a suitable exfoliator. Regular exfoliation is also key to preventing and eliminating ingrown hairs.
- Avoid shaving the area in between treatments.
