Use of an exfoliating scrub pre- and post-hair removal is essential to preventing & treating ingrown hairs. We recommend that you gently exfoliate every 2 – 3 days, no sooner than 12 hours prior to hair removal and no sooner than 48 hours after, so as not to aggravate the skin.
Choose a body exfoliator which is grainy enough to have an effect, but not so harsh that will irritate your skin or make it sore. In fact, over-exfoliation or the use of an unsuitable exfoliating scrub will graze the skin and may actually cause ingrown hairs, rather than prevent them.
IF you have removed your hair from your bikini line or pubic area, make sure that the exfoliator you choose is specifically designed for the bikini area/pubic area.
For best results, we recommend that you follow our three-step advice of exfoliate, cleanse and soothe for happier skin after hair removal:
