Essential Waxing & Shaving Aftercare Kit

I used this balm in a 10 week aftercare study I ran across seven brands and eight clients, and it made a real difference for the ingrown hair prone skin.

The thing that stood out was how it kept skin soft without going greasy. A lot of aftercare balms either sit on top of the skin and do nothing, or they're so rich they feel like they need washing off again. This one absorbed properly and the skin stayed comfortable for hours after.

Soft, supple skin matters more than people realise when it comes to ingrown hairs. New hair struggles to push through skin that's dry or flaky, so keeping it hydrated between hair removal sessions is half the battle. Clients using this consistently had noticeably fewer bumps by the end of the study, especially on the bikini line where irritation usually shows up first.

It also held up well on intimate skin, no stinging, no reaction, even on clients who normally can't use much down there.

If you're already exfoliating and want the moisturising step to actually pull its weight, this is the one I'd recommend.

What I liked is that it actually does two things at once. The walnut shell buffs the surface, and the salicylic acid works down inside the pore, which is where the blockage actually is. Most scrubs only do the surface part, which is why people can scrub away for weeks and still get bumps.

It's gentle enough for the bikini line too, and that's not something I say about many exfoliants. Clients who normally can't handle anything on intimate skin used this fine, no stinging, no redness the next day.
The photos backed it up. Areas that had been bumpy for months started clearing within a few weeks of using it regularly.

If ingrown hairs are the problem you're trying to solve, this is the one I'd recommend.

This product is genuinely life changing for me, it has made such a difference to my skin. I use it on my bikini area religiously now and it really stops the development of ingrown hairs - which I used to struggle with. I use it once every 3 days and it is brilliant.
I also use is on my legs every so often and it’s absolutely magical, removed any sore shaving bumps etc. Great product and one that I would not be without!

Ever since using this scrub I’ve noticed a massive difference in my skin. The scent is amazing, my skin is super soft and as I’m someone who gets waxed I’ve noticed a massive change in how much it’s helped my ingrowns. I have also I’ve noticed that’s it’s not harsh on my skin which is perfect for me as I’ve been struggling to find a product that doesn’t react to my psoriasis! Will most definitely be using this scrub from now on! Highly recommend!!

I love the scent, fresh and a great balance of mint and cucumber. It's a thicker cream than many moisturises, and spreads well over the skin without being too greasy. Has really helped my dry hands. As with the other NKD products I've tired, at almost £16, it's pricey for a moisturiser. It's targeted for post shaving use, so if used once or twice a week, I might be able to justify that cost.. but with how the economy is.. products like this are harder to justify spending that mucg on. That said, it is very nice.

This is a happy addition to the shower routine! It has a pleasing, more cucumber scent than mint and exfoliates nicely. Use on kegs and underarms only, as the mint does make things... sting!!.. if used anywhere else you may shave..! While I like this, I think it's far too pricey, and you can get exfoliating scrubs 10-12 quid cheaper. Instructions say to use a small amount, but I find I need a pretty big blob, twice, for both legs, so it also means it won't last as long as I'd like for the price tag. If you like mint and cucumber and don't mind the cost, go for it, it's lovely!

This isn't the cheapest bottle of body cream especially for the size but I'm in love with it.It smells soooo good and feels beautiful on the skin.It's a nice thick buttery cream that's so smooth and easy to rub in and leaves skin feeling soft and smelling delicious.Natural ingredients and beautiful quality.Very highly recommend. eEvery time I shave my legs with a razor, my skin gets irritated, red, and it takes a few days to heal. I have never used any cream after waxing before, until the moment I decided to try Nkd, I can say that I really like the result. I have tried it twice after shaving and I noticed that my skin is not irritated, it is not red as before, on the contrary, it is very soft, hydrated and with a fantastic aroma. The cream came in a bottle with a pump, which makes it easy to get the product. The price seems a little high, but considering that there is a lot in the bottle and you need very little to use it, this cream will last for a long time.

Having used the exfoliating scrub by this brand and being impressed with it, I wanted to try the balm for added moisture after showering and shaving. This balm, like other products has a cool tea tree and mint kind of smell, with is light and refreshing to the skin. With dry and sensitive skin I need to moisturise after hair removal, so this feels nice, goes into the skin very easily and feels cooking and fresh without being too much of a lingering smell to interfere with perfume, etc. I would be interested to try more product from this brand, I have been impressed by both so far.

This exfoliating body scrub smells really cool and refreshing, with hints of mint. The product itself runs easily into the skin (not too gritty but you can feel it’s working to remove dead skin). As recommended I applied it and rubbed it in on the skin before showering and then rinse and scrubbed in the shower. With sensitive skin I don’t like anything that feels too abrasive so this felt nice. It says the scrub helps eliminate ingrowing hairs, my legs have felt smoother but it’s something I think you would see over time. I use 2-3 times a week and feel it could become a part of my regular routine.

Exfoliating body scrub got a pleasant cucumber/ mint smell. Bit chemical though.Brown, creamy texture. Easy to rub and rinse off the skin. Leaving lots of exfoliating bits in the shower tray.Gentle on the skin. Leaving it smooth, clean and refreshed. Slightly overpriced.

Smells as you'd expect with the cucumber and mint but there's an underlying scent of something more exotic - aloe vera, orange, menthol and lemon. The scrub itself is quite thick so it doesn't run - it stays exactly where you put it and has walnut shell as the exfoliant. So far so good. What you need to remember is that this is a body scrub for pre and post depilation, whether by waxing, shaving, epilator or other method, and if you're removing hair from more intimate parts then some of the ingredients such as menthol, tea tree and mint are, ahem, tingly. All I'll say is, be accurate in your application!I like that the company behind this are small and British - I like to support small, local businesses, and having read the backstory to this company I'm more than satisfied they know their business when it comes to this sort of product.So apart from the tingliness, how was the scrub? Pretty good I'd say. The instructions on the packaging are a little confusing - the company may be British but I think the manufacture is elsewhere and whoever did the translation got it a bit off. No matter, I used it before showering and my skin felt clean, soft and fresh, I think it will be very useful if I use it a couple of times per week. At £15 for 200g (as at 21 March 2023) it isn't cheap, but it is a quality product filled with quality ingredients, and as they say, you pay for quality.I'll keep using it and if it proves effective I may well get more.Worth a try, particularly in the run up to holiday season.

Nice an thick cream! Doesn't leave a greasy film on your skin and it's not to heavy. Skin feels polished and silky after the fist use! The smell is gorgeous and lasts ages. I'll definitely be adding this as a regular purchase, it's much cheaper than high St brands an works much better too.

My body balm dispenser arrived broken despite being packaged well which was disappointing! However I can still unscrew part of the pump and use this amazing product. I’m still giving this product 5⭐️ despite this because I can’t even describe how soft your skin is after using, it’s smoother and softer than baby soft skin! And the scent is so fresh and natural too, Mint & Cucumber is clearly a magic combination. Highly recommend after waxing and exfoliating!

Sometimes cucumber and/or mint smells a bit harsh and cold. This smells exactly as you'd expect, but in a very subtle way - it has what I'd call a 'soft' scent which is far more appealing than the more astringent scent you might be expecting.I don't wax, but I do shave and epilate and sometimes get that 'plucked chicken-skin' look that really isn't attractive and can be quite sore. I've never come across something that is designed especially for that eventuality, so it's nice to find something that might help.It's a very rich cream - a little goes a long way so no need to slather it on thick - use a small amount, you can always put more on if needed. You don't need to use it exclusively on skin that's just had hair removed - it's fine as a general moisturiser too.I like it and will use it, particularly in the run up to holidays when we all take that little extra care of our skin.At £15.75 for 250ml (as at 19 March 2023) this is a pretty decent buy. Certainly worth a shot if you want help with 'chicken-skin'.

This is a Nice thick moisturiser.It has a lovely scentNice smell- it initially smells just like cucumber but when rubbed in it has a slight mint smell too It does not sting face or eyes.A little goes a long way. It has a Creamy texture , a little sticky and greasy but feels like it is really moisturising your skin.It comes in a pump bottle that is easy to control the amount you want to dispense.It Lasts overnight and keeps you moisturised for hours.It isn’t cheap at £15.99 but if it’s within your budget then it’s worth trying.

This scrub smells amazing, I do like mint and cucumber smell and it doesn’t smell artificial at all. Ingredient list is impressive, all ingredients are natural with added salicylic acid and hyaluronic acid. It works really well, removes dead skin and leaves my skin silky smooth and provides some moisturising effect too. For me this scrub feels like a premium product and I will most definitely repurchase it in future.Well worth the price tag, I am happy with it.
